A lot of time passed since the last post; the Wheel of Time turns, and ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth comes again. But this is another story.
We are all a bit busy with our “real lives”, now almost all of us have a job, I myself have a fiancé and Baccanasta is proceeding slowly. However, our party is going very fast, our setting is getting more defined and I hope Baccanasta projects will proceed, too.
For now, we accomplished an important mission: we decided the party name.
The discussion lasted a long time, focused on the meaning the name should have had and the sensations it should have generated: our party travels a lot, not only killing monsters, but trading goods and arts. We proposed something in Latin, but as we are italians, Latin did seem too much “normal” and we preferred English.
First ideas were something like “Wondering Wanderers discovering wonders”.
But we are also very good in our professions of craft skills, everyone in a specific area; the word we thought of was “corporation”, so we switched to “The Wandering Corporation of [something]“.
Moksone proposed another word instead of Wandering: Roving, the new proposals were “Roving Corporation of Craftsmen”, “Roving Corporation of Tradesmen” and “Roving Corporation of Arts, Crafts and Trades”, but they were too long.
At last, we added the word “Masters”, as we are all masters in our field (in term of D&D skills: craft, perform, profession, knowledge), so the proposal was “The Roving Masters Corporation”. The name, however was still too long, so we truncated it, by adding an option.
Now we are the “Roving Masters”, and since we are getting very famous by trading and creating very high quality items, we plan to create a network of people skilled in their profession, which we will certificate by adding them to our Corporation (Roving Masters Corporation), granting them services and products (with fee, of course).
The name is already visible in our journal.
We hope you’ll like it…
Welcome to Baccanasta’s blog.
This is the one of the components we planned to add to Baccanasta: a blog to insert news about our website or posts related to the subjects we discuss.
As you can see, there is also another blog in this website, called journal. The journal is the blog of our D&D company, so it will contain the history and the adventures of our company.
So, just to focus the point: news = Baccanasta; journal = company’s adventures.
The first thing we’ll do is the transfer of all the posts not related to the company from the journal to this blog. Just have some patience.
In addition, this blog is the first step toward a big goal: the complete translation of the contents of this website in two languages: English and Italian. Currently, the journal is in Italian, but we are also writing some contents in English for a component that will be added soon. We will try to have all contents both in Italian and English, because we think that our “products” could be enjoyed by D&D players all over the world.
For what concerns what is present in Baccanasta, its structure and what are the goals, we invite you to visit the About section (still in development); that section will give you enough information to know our ideas. This blog will contain all the updates, of course.
So, welcome to Baccanasta!
